Dyslexia Intervention Information
Regardless of that exemption, ASD employs a variety of assessments to identify and address the unique needs of our students, including assessments which identify possible literacy and language deficits areas. Several members of our academic team have undergone additional training in research-based programs such as Orton-Gillingham for dyslexia identification and intervention.
ASD stands ready to meet the individual needs of all of our students. These needs are determined through evaluation, and in consultation with the child’s parents and with a team of professionals who are experts in the field of Deaf Education. Specific student centered goals, measures, and outcomes are documented in each students Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) as required by IDEA and ASD policy. Any reading deficit areas are systematically addressed throughout the student’s academic career.
