Health Services Center
Arkansas School for the Deaf is committed to working together with parents and health care professionals throughout the state to meet the diverse medical needs of our students to ensure they are happy and healthy and ready to learn. We have first-class health care on the campus consisting of a school physician who is a pediatrician on staff at Arkansas Children's Hospital along with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) certified in pediatrics. Three Registered Nurses (RN) and and three Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to provide prescribed medications, first aid, chronic health condition management and to take care of other emergent needs. The Health Services Team also consists of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and an administrative assistant.
Also, Health Services is a partner with Arkansas Children's Hospital to provide an Athletic Trainer for our student-athletes.
Health Services hours are Sunday from 3:00 pm to 11 pm. Monday to Thursday from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm. Friday from 7:00 am to 2:00 pm.
ASD does not provide 24 hours nursing services but an RN is always on call when students are on campus.
